Deep Blue is taking over the Hôtel de la Marine for the Symposium of European Naval Academies

On 25 and 26 March 2025, Deep Blue was delighted to play an active role in the Symposium of European Maritime Academies, organised by the Académie de Marine at the ENSM (Ecole nationale supérieure maritime) and the CMA CGM TANGRAM Centre in Marseille. This meeting brought together the six European maritime academies to discuss the key issues that will shape the forthcoming United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC III) in Nice in June 2025.

At the same time, Deep Blue organised a delegation in Paris, bringing together students from theUniversité Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, the École Polytechnique, ESCP Business School and the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées. Hosted at the Académie de Marine’s Paris premises, these committed young people followed the presentations from Marseille remotely and carried out their own work on three key themes: international law of the sea, the blue economy and marine pollution.

This opportunity for collective reflection provided a chance to bring together legal, economic and environmental perspectives, in a spirit of openness, rigour and debate. Deep Blue would like to extend its warmest thanks to the students for their commitment, their curiosity and their ability to put forward concrete proposals for the future of the ocean.

Over the coming weeks, we will continue this work of organising the students’ contributions, in line with the recommendations put forward at European level by the Naval Academies. Stay tuned for further updates!
