Launch of the Maritime Innovation Programme in partnership with the École Nationale des Ponts-et-Chaussées and Stanford
Deep Blue Foundation is a partner in a research and innovation project carried out as part of the ME310 programme at the d.school Paris – École nationale des ponts et chaussées, which focuses on the challenges facing the merchant navy in terms of attracting new talent.
The project is led by Quentin Lagache, with the direct involvement of three students: Anaïs Achard, Barnabé Blanchard and Alexandre Schwalberg. Together, they are working to rethink the daily lives of merchant navy seafarers by applying design thinking methods and a user-centred approach.
The project also involves students from San Francisco State University and forms part of an international academic partnership, with a final presentation scheduled to take place at Stanford University.
Working alongside the student teams, Deep Blue supports the project with its expertise in contemporary maritime issues, particularly regarding the social, systemic and forward-looking aspects of the sector. The first few months are devoted to research, interviews and fieldwork, with a view to identifying concrete drivers of innovation for the sector.
