Meeting with General Michel Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic
Amine Lehna spoke with Michel Aoun, a former army chief and a leading figure in Lebanon’s contemporary political history. Having lived in exile in Paris for more than fifteen years before returning to Lebanon in 2005, Michel Aoun has played a central role in several decisive moments in Lebanese political life.
The discussion centred on the history of Lebanon, literature and theology – themes that reveal the cultural and spiritual depth of a country characterised by a diversity of traditions and narratives.
Beyond his personal journey, the discussion also touched upon the structural challenges Lebanon continues to face: the rebuilding of its institutions and the redefinition of its regional role, within a particularly constrained political and geopolitical context.
Deep Blue thanks all those who helped make this meeting possible.
