Introduction

Dedicated to the law of the sea and global ocean governance, the centre DMGO focuses on developments in blue diplomacy and multilateral negotiations. Recognising that the fragmentation of governance frameworks limits international action, it places at the heart of its thinking the need to devise more comprehensive frameworks capable of reconciling national sovereignties, scientific expertise and supranational legal regimes.

Mission

Its members are committed to identifying ways to revitalise inter-state cooperation, with a view to moving beyond sectoral approaches, ensuring the genuinely sustainable and equitable management of marine resources, and shaping the emerging regulatory framework in areas beyond national jurisdiction.
