Introduction
Dedicated to the economic, industrial and logistical changes taking place in the maritime sector, the Centre for Maritime Studies (ILEB) analyses the overall restructuring of the sector in the light of contemporary transitions, particularly the digital and energy transitions. Its research covers the entire value chain, from maritime transport and port hubs to shipbuilding and the deployment of marine energy.
Mission
Its members examine decarbonisation pathways, the impact of technological innovations and the funding mechanisms for these transformations. By examining the conditions that ensure the competitiveness and attractiveness of French and European maritime stakeholders, the centre supports the emergence of new, sustainable and resilient blue economy models.
